I have been in Edinburgh for nearly 24 hours and I’ve only really had one awkward situation involving Michael J Dolan, a very funny comedian who is also helping me with my tech. I’m expecting many more over the coming month.
Michael kindly helped load my stuff into my flat and we had to ferry stuff from where I had my car parked on double yellows up to the flat in turn. Michael took the last load up to while I waited in the car. Time passed. I had a snooze. And then doubt started to creep in. Was Michael struggling with the keys, banging the door in frustration and throwing my stationery items at tourists and drama students (the hole punch could’ve taken a few out).
Eventually I cracked and called him to discover that he’d been waiting for me in the flat expecting me to have dropped the fire car off and returned, whereas I thought he was coming back with the keys before I dropped it off. It was totally my fault because I hadn’t been in anyway clear and had mentioned dropping the car off. I had been up since 5.30am. No harm done and no one offended at least.

Hope the Fringe goes well for you Matt. Must be reassuring to know you have a dedicated and vociferous fan base rooting for you South of the Border!
